    You know how important it is to get 8 glasses (or more) of water per day in your diet, but do you know how easy it is to improve your water’s nutrition? Drinking water flushes toxins out of the body and assists in healthy weight management, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring!

    For a simple way to get more nutrients, vitamins, and minerals in your routine, we recommend adding detox waters to your day. At a minimum, drink detox water with every meal, when you wake up, and before you go to bed to ensure you’re staying hydrated and receiving the great benefits that this flavorful drink has to offer.

    Creating detox water is simple. You can put together your own combinations of fruit, spices, and flavors days ahead of time—and in bulk—to make sure you always have detox water right at your fingertips! Need some inspiration or recipe ideas? Here are some of our favorite detox waters to try this spring and summer.

    Cucumber, Lemon, and Ginger

    To create this simple, refreshing treat: cut up cucumber, wedge a few lemons, and slice fresh ginger. Place all of these delicious ingredients into a pitcher of water. To enhance the flavor even more, muddle the ingredients together before placing them in the water.

    Cucumbers are full of vitamins C, A, K, and potassium. They’re chockfull of detoxifying minerals and are great for preventing water retention and inflammation. Lemon helps boost your digestion and rids toxins from the body, especially when consumed in the morning or as soon as you wake up. Citrus is great for flushing out the liver and breaking down fat. We’ve also included ginger in this tasty combination because it adds extra essential cleansing properties to your water. Just a few slices will stimulate your metabolism and cleanse your digestive tract.

    Apples and Cinnamon

    This detox water is great to enjoy throughout the day. Typically, if you feel hungry during the day, your body may actually just be dehydrated! Drink a glass of apple-cinnamon water to feel fuller longer and hydrate your system. Slice up your favorite apples—any type will do—and add cinnamon sticks to a pitcher of water.

    Apples are the star of this delicious, refreshing concoction. Apples help you stave off several different diseases and illnesses, such as Alzheimer’s, cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Apples also reduce cholesterol, prevent gallstones, ease constipation, clean your liver, and improve your immune system. We’ve included cinnamon in this recipe because this spice is used to treat cramps, infections, cold symptoms, and also helps stimulate your appetite.     Watermelon and Mint

    Watermelon and mint detox water is great for warm, sunny days in the spring and summer. Sip it by the pool and stay hydrated and cool! Cube up fresh watermelon and muddle a few mint leaves before stirring into a pitcher of cold water.

    Watermelon has citrulline, which helps keep your liver healthy and clean. The fruit flushes out toxins in the body and improves the health of your kidneys, too. Mint is not only refreshing, but it’s great for stimulating digestion, breaking down body fat, and relaxing muscle cramps and aches.

    Strawberry and Lime

    Hosting a party? Set out a few pitchers of strawberry and lime water! It’ll be an instant hit. Slice up some strawberries, wedge a few limes, and voila: a perfect summertime treat for you and your guests.

    Why did we pick strawberries? These tasty berries are known for their anti-aging properties and ability to fight carcinogens and fight cancer. The antioxidants in these fruits and biotin will help improve the look and feel of your skin, hair, and nails.
